Freiberg University of Mining and Technology, founded in 1765, is a public university seated in Freiberg, Saxony with round about 4,600 students. In its capacity of a “university of resources“ that focuses on Materials, Environment, Energy, and Geo, Freiberg University of Mining and Technology provides 65 study programs in the fields of Geosciences, Engineering, Natural Science, Materials Science, and Business Administration. The University is split up into six faculties: the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, the Faculty of Chemistry and Physics, the Faculty of Geosciences, Geoengineering and Mining, the Faculty of Mechanical, Process and Energy Engineeering, the Faculty of Materials Science and Materials Technology, and the Faculty of Business Administration. Among the studies offered are seven international Master degree programs, namely “Advanced Mineral Resources Development“, “Groundwater Management“, “Geoscience“, “Computational Materials Science“, “International Management of Resources & Environment“, “International Business of Developing and Emerging Markets“, and “Sustainable Mining and Remediation Management“. Added to this is a three-year extra-occupational postgraduate study program that leads to the degree “Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur“. Depending on the respective program, the following degrees can be obtained at Freiberg University of Mining and Technology: B.Sc., BBL, M.Sc., MBA, Diplom-Chemiker, Dipl.-Ing., and Diplom-Kaufmann.
