Description
Biology is the study of living organisms, how they function, reproduce and develop, their physical structure, natural processes and the environments in which they thrive. A degree course in Biology aims to provide understanding of all living things – from bacteria and viruses to plants, animals and humans, and their interaction with the environment. Biology students are usually taught subjects like Principles of Animal and Plant Biology, Biology of Organisms, Attributes of Living Systems, Ecology, Animal Behavior, Medical Parasitology, Zoology, General Chemistry, Animal-Plant Interactions, and others. They have the opportunity to obtain theoretical knowledge and practical experience in scientific laboratories. During the Biology program, students gain valuable skills like analyzing and interpreting scientific data, drawing conclusions, critical thinking, strong written and oral communication, the ability to work in teams and organize tasks, and conduct and observe experiments. Biology graduates have a variety of career prospects – they can work in research, aquariums, zoos, museums, scientific laboratories, bioinformatics, biotechnology, marine conservation, product development, product research and many others.
