Description
Physiotherapy is generally used to treat patients with injuries, diseases and disorders through exercise, massage and other treatments, often in order to prevent medication and surgery. The main goal of Physiotherapy is to detect, diagnose and treat physical effects and impairments, and severe and chronic disabilities. Physiotherapy has numerous applications, such as prevention and treatment of sports-related injuries, stroke recovery, improvement of mobility, management of diabetes and other conditions, and is therefore a valuable tool in Medicine. Physiotherapy degree programs most often teach subjects like Human Anatomy, Health Psychology, General Pathology, Medical and Surgical Conditions, Orthopedic Processes, Neurology, Pediatrics, Biometrics, Kinetics and more. Practical training is very important in Physiotherapy programs, so students apply the acquired knowledge and practice different treatment methods. Students in Physiotherapy have the opportunity to participate in internships in rehabilitation centers, clinics or practices, and learn to treat patients. Physiotherapy degrees courses provide students with teamwork, communication, problem-solving, organizational and time management skills. Physiotherapy graduates can find jobs in public and private healthcare institutions, sports centers and clubs, clinics, retirement homes, community health centers, schools and other institutions.
