Friedensau Adventist University, founded in 1899 under a different name, is a state-accredited ecclesiastical institution of higher education seated in Möckern-Friedensau, (Saxony-Anhalt). It is funded by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Nearly 200 students are enrolled at Friedensau Adventist University in three Bachelor degree programs and six Master degree programs in two departments: the Department of Theology, and the Department of Social Sciences. The scope of Bachelor studies include the study courses “Theology“, “Social Work“, and “Health and Nursing Sciences“. At Master’s level, the University offers the study courses “Theology“, “Master of Theological Studies“ (English-taught course), “International Social Sciences“ (English-taught course), “Counseling“, “Social and Health Management“, and “Music Therapy“. Depending on the respective study course, graduates of the Friedensau Adventist University receive a B.A., M.A., or M.T.S.. In partnership with the hospitals in the Pfeiffer’s foundations, Friedensau Adventist University provides a continuing education program for executives and specialists in nursing that focuses on the following topics: Project Management, Health Economics/Fundamentals of Business Administration, Case Management/Primary Nursing, Scientific Substantiation of Nursing Care, Evidence-based Nursing Care/National Expert Standards/Assessment Procedure, Quality Management, Health Sciences and Spiritual Care/Respectcare/Existential Communication.
