The study program “Producing” offered by the German Film and Television Academy Berlin provides students with the needed knowledge and skills in the area of producing. Students will look at current production models and do research to develop new ones. As one of the key values of the academy- students are taught that failure is an essential and unavoidable component of learning. Students learn alongside students form different specialisations throughout the first academic year of the basic studies program, and get familiar with all aspects and disciplines of the filmmaking process. In the second year they take on the role of producer on a variety of short film projects. Furthermore, producing students are required to design, organize, and manage short film projects. they should be able to easily switch between producer and production management responsibilities. Moreover, students will be able to strengthen and enhance their abilities by taking seminars in dramaturgy, genre films, negotiation, sale, etc. They gain additional practical experience by completing internships and discover positions in the fields of curating, marketing, etc.
