The “Master of Laws in Sports Law” program at German Sport University Cologne is a part-time course with a length of 4 academic semesters. Highly practically oriented, the program is characterized by a high degree of application orientation. Basics, types and contents of private regulation, Limits to private regulation, Effects of private regulation, Outsourcing of commercial enterprises from non-profit sports institutions, Organizational structure, tasks and working method of a large sports association, Licensing process, National association jurisdiction and other topics are part of the course curriculum. Admission requirements include proof of having passed the first legal examination, as well as at least one year of professional experience in a legal profession or proof of having passed the Second State Examination in Law.
