The Gustav Siewerth Academy, founded in 1988, is a private institution of higher education seated in Weilheim-Bierbronnen, Baden-Wuerttemberg. It is sponsored by the Gustav-Siewerth-Haus gGmbH. The Academy offers study programs in Philosophy, Philosophy of Science, and Catholic Theology. For general orientation and for an introduction into studying humanities, natural sciences, medicine, law, economics, and journalism, Gustav Siewerth Academy also provides a “General Studies“ course which on an interdisciplinary basis deals with philosophical, ethical, and theological fundamental questions based on the Christian conception of Man and the world. The study topics range from the basic problems of philosophy and natural philosophy through bio and medical ethics to fundamental questions of theology. Moreover, the Academy offers an advanced training course for priests who seek to learn the Sacrament of Confession.
