Description
The study course “Master of Science in Resource Efficiency in Architecture and Planning” offered at HafenCity University Hamburg is an international course focused mainly on the sustainable planning on different scales. Students are introduced to and encouraged to create sustainable architecture. Cultural and geographical aspects of the urban environment must also be considered when promoting the sustainable designs. The length of study is four semesters in full-time study and students follow multidimensional approach. Graduates from this program are free to proceed to a career in national, regional and local governments, national and international non-governmental organisations (NGOs), consulting and finance, utilities and technology producers, real estate development and the housing industry, in architectural or urban design and engineering firms, in local, national and international organisations and the planning departments of city and regional councils, managers of energy and environment related infrastructure systems and networks and more. The studied subjects are Sustainability, Water, Material and Energy Cycles in the city, Urban technologies and infrastructure, Economics and administration of buildings and urban services, Legal and policy instruments, Urban Planning and more.
