Provided by the Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences the seven semesters study course “Bachelor of Science in Material Design – Bionics and Photonics” is primarily oriented towards the understanding and functionalities of nature. With its interdisciplinary approach, the degree program enables participants to contribute to the development of future innovations and the improvement of existing solutions. The science-oriented study course imparts fundamentals of natural sciences by also including practical modules, a practical semester and project work. During the course, the participants are able to form their perception in photonics and lightweigth constructions by mastering the chemistry, physics and biology-related areas and natural science foundations. The graduates will be able to specialize in lighting industry, materials development, industrial and consumer electronics, machinery and plant engineering, automotive and aerospace industry, nano- and microstructure technology or medical engineering.
