The study program “Master of Music in Music Theory’’ offered at Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media provides a full-time and a part-time Master’s course with a range of duration between four and eight semesters. The part-time version of the program is most suitable for professional musicians who would like to acquire new professional competencies in their field of specialization. The aim of the Master’s program is centred around the development of analytical, compositional and pedagogical competencies. Additionally, the wide range of interdisciplinary modules ensures the proper acquisition of the necessary competencies in the field. Participants could also choose to complete an internship program at a higher institution.
