Description
In logistics and supply chain management, it is all about how the individual processes in production look like and which strategies need to be used to optimize logistics processes.
In this area of study in Industrial Engineering, we look at the entire value chain (raw material suppliers – end customers) and try to analyse how the goal of resource optimization can be achieved. In today’s globalized world, companies share a wide variety of tasks and thus increase productivity. As early as 1776, the national economist Adam Smith made clear in his book ’The Wealth of Nations' the positive significance of the division of labour in relation to productivity.
However, companies need consistent logistics and supply chain management in order to be able to get off to a successful start. A small information disruption in a supply chain can, for example, have a significant impact on the order quantity.
After completing their studies, the HDBW graduates act as experts in their field of expertise.
