Description
Smart production stands for the complete digitalization and thus networking of companies in the field of production and logistics. In the industrial engineering major Smart Production and Production Management, we analyze the fundamentals of production, the associated flow of materials and information, and the various possibilities for linking them.
The focus is on the diverse possibilities of holistic process orientation - with combined digitalization from customer requirements (product development) to flexible manufacturing. Another focus is on deepening the planning and control components of a factory and the coordination of the entire supply chain.
Through the combination of optimally designed processes, it is precisely these waste-free and customer-oriented processes that are in the foreground in modern companies.
In addition to the basics of logistics and materials management, the course also covers the elementary methods of the Toyota Production System (Lean Management). Smart production' is a term from the environment of Industry 4.0: the goal is to advance the interaction of manufacturing facilities, logistics, products and people for optimal production.
We optimally prepare HDBW students in this focus area of industrial engineering for complex issues in production management.
