Heidelberg University is a public university seated in Heidelberg, Baden-Wuerttemberg. Founded in 1368, it is Germany’s oldest university. Nearly 31,000 students are enrolled at the Heidelberg University in study courses in the fields of humanities and natural sciences. The University accomodates twelve faculties: the Faculty of Theology, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Philosophy, the Faculty of Modern Languages, the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Behavioural and Cultural Studies, the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy, the Faculty of Chemistry and Earth Sciences, the Faculty of Biosciences, the Medical Faculty Heidelberg, and the Medical Faculty Mannheim. The range of studies includes undergraduate and postgraduate programs as well as non-consecutive and continuing education programs. The non-consecutive studies encompass the study courses “American Studies“, “Diaconia – Leadership in Christian Social Practice“, “Legum Magister in Law“, “Legum Magister in Corporate Restructuring“, “Medical Education“, and “Medical Physics with Distinction in Radiotherapy and Biomedical Optics“.
