At Leipzig Graduate School of Management, the academic studies can continue further into a Doctorate, after a Master’s degree in the field of economics or business. Candidates can present a proposal, and after being approved by a supervisor, having successfully passed an interview, they can continue their postgraduate education. It continues for three years and has two mandatory and several elective modules, the mandatory being Philosophical Underpinnings of Economic and Management Research, Economic Analysis and Policy or Corporate Governance. The studies are part-time, include lectures, seminars, and independent research work, as well as colloquia, forums, conferences, summer schools. Graduates can pursue an academic position at university, or be accepted in research groups. Most valuable topics for the dissertation are those on the interface between disciplines, like law, psychology, ethics, health and economics. An opportunity for a scholarship exists.
