The Hochschule der Deutschen Gesetzlichen Unfallversicherung, founded in 1996, is a state-recognized private higher education institution with locations in Bad Hersfeld, and Hennef. Being one of two major education institutions with accompanying applied research of the German Social Accident Insurance (DGU), it focuses on three areas: Social Insurance, Rehabilitation, and Public Administration. The scope of studies provided for the round about 200 students it accomodates includes the undergraduate dual Bachelor course “Social Insurance“, as well as the extra-occupational six-semester Master study course “Master of Public Administration“, which is offered in partneship with the University of Kassel, and the certification courses “Social Insurance Case Manager Training Program“, “Basic Training Social Accident Insurance“, “Advanced Training Social Accident Insurance“, “Civil Service Qualification“, “Training for Trainers“, and “Trainers Profile Analysis“. For those employed at the German Social Accident Insurance, the Hochschule der Deutschen Gesetzlichen Unfallversicherung also conducts various education and continuing education courses.
