The Hochschule für öffentliche Verwaltung Rheinland Pfalz, founded in 1981, is a school of public administration seated in Mayen, Rhineland-Palatinate. It serves as an expertise center for public administrations (municipal administrations, state administrations, German Pension Insurance) in Rhineland-Palatinate. Round about 1,800 students currently attend a three-year dual training program which combines a study program at university level with practice-related training. The program prepares students for a career as a public administration official (Administration and Finance). The scope of studies offered includes two Bachelor degree courses: “Administration“ (B.A., areas of activity: General Administration, Administrative Computer Science, Road and Traffic Law, Pension Insurance), and “Business Administration and Public Administration“ (B.A., areas of activity: General Business Administration and Public Administration, Administrative Computer Science). The educational offer is complemented by a number of advanced and continuing education opportunities such as the certificate course “Administrative Computer Science“, the compact/certificate course “Municipal Double-Entry Accounting“, as well as specialized training programs and IT seminars.
