HTW Dresden – University of Applied Sciences, founded in 1992, is a public university of applied sciences seated in Dresden, Saxony. With nearly 5,000 students, HTW Dresden is Dresden’s second largest institution of higher education. It offers 36 study courses at eight faculties: the Faculty of Civil Engineering/Architecture, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, the Faculty of Spatial Information, the Faculty of Design, the Faculty of Informatics/Mathematics, the Faculty of Agriculture/Environment/Chemistry, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and the Faculty of Business Administration. In addition to direct study programs, the ten-semester distance learning study courses “Electrical Engineering/Communication Technology“, and “Surveying – concentration: Geoinformatics, Engineering Surveying, Land Management“ are on offer as well. The scope of studies offered by HTW Dresden also comprises six international study courses, i.e. courses which are partially or exclusively run in the English language and in some cases provide for a stay abroad. The international courses include “Electrical Engineering“, “International Business“ (Bachelor and Master), “Environmental Engineering“, “Business Engineering“, and “International Manufacturing Engineering Studies IMES“. Moreover, above-average graduates have the opportunity to obtain a doctorate via partnership universities. Depending on the study program, graduates receive a B.A., B.Sc., B.Eng., Dipl.-Ing. (FH), Dipl.-Inform. (FH), Dipl.-Wirt.-Inform. (FH), M.A., M.Sc., M.Eng., and MBA.
