The “Bachelor of Arts in Childhood Social Work and Education” program at HTW Saar is a seven-semester course. It is a thorough preparation of specialists to work in the spheres of intervention in social issues, with people from diverse backgrounds. Since the heterogeinity of society is becoming increasingly difficult to cope with nowadays, and the areas of application of social work professionals’ skills - broader and broader, all this is being taken into consideration during the degree studies, in order to equip future professionals with the flexibility, impartiality and competence to be able to affront these issues, and be efficient, both on their own and as members of a team. Possible positions include child and youth centres, crèches, welfare, school social support, work with families, disadvantaged, disabled, as well as addiction support.
