In cooperation with the University of Lorraine, in Metz, the HTW Saar University of Applied Sciences has developed the Bachelor degree „Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Web Engineering”. The degree is executed at both sites, and French, English, and German language use is needed. Thus, apart from the double technical degree, it also equips students with new experiences in multicultural environment, typical for today’s international IT businesses. A three-month practical phase and a bachelor thesis are the focus of the last, sixth semester. Statistics, mathematics, and programming languages, specifically Java, fill up the core competence cycle. Databases, software development, networks, operating systems, web applications, interfaces, software test and control, are the focus of the services and products which the specialists in this area will handle both during their studies, and in their future work.
