HTW Saar offers the „Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental Engineering” program. It comprises seven semesters and teaches engineers how to apply scientific, methodological and procedural approaches to the treatment of climate and sustainability issues. The initial part of the studies goes through the natural sciences’ basics and the engineering fundamentals, then a practical period of seventeen weeks follows, to end up with the specialization course throughout the last three semesters – in infrastructure or technology, a bachelor’s thesis and a colloquium. The degree also combines instruction from the social and economic spheres, since the implementation of all type of intervention in the environmental sector will meet the need for decision making, planning, executing, and dealing with stakeholders. Apart from that, technical measurements and their reflection in reports will have to be performed for the approval procedures.
