A three-semester long period has to be dedicated to the study of the degree course “Master of Science in Neural Engineering” at HTW Saar. The scope of study disciplines encompasses biosignal and image processing for technologies in treatment, diagnostics and intervention of human brain and the whole neural system. The cutting-edge technology field has a wide and competent worldwide community behind it, and students’ participation in international research in the field is another value-adding factor to the degree. Sound background in the engineering science, as well as excellent grades, are the selection critearia for entering the degree course. The core knowledge on neural and cognitive systems in the first semester will be paired with the signal analysis and mathematical modelling of the neural system, especially in implants, in the second semester. A practice project-focused period in a national or international partner organization will further add to building professional expertise and confidence in future graduates.
