The “Bachelor of Science in Practical Computer Science” at the HTW Saar will teach students how to write software, in a theoretical, combined with practice approach, during six semesters. The much-demanded competence nowadays will be scheduled into study of algorithms, databases, networks, applications and software development, and business informatics. The course evolves in a tight cooperation with the practitioners and businesses in the field, regional, national, and foreign ones. They are invited to give lectures to future programmers, advise them on practical issues, supervise them during intenships, as well as support the writing of their bachelor’s thesis. Apart from that, notions of economy, and soft skills training produce completely trained professionals, who can equally commit to deal with the highly demanding specific technical content, and the managerial and project development process, if so be the case.
