The certificate program “Specialist in Crechè Pedagogy” has been devised in a cooperation between KiTa Saarland gGmbH and HTW Saar. It addresses the growing need for pedagogues in the expanding sector of childcare and education at nurseries and kindergartens. There are eight modules to the certificate program. Scientific knowledge on the neurobiological and psychological development of toddlers will be acquired. Also, legal and educational aspects, organizational and interaction patterns will be discusse, in order to bestow to future graduates the full specter of perspectives needed to encompass the role of a child educator. The interactive ancillary digital materials used in the preparation are meant for portraying practical skills and common procedures to be performed in the everyday work of a crèche worker.
