At HTW Saar, there is the continuing degree “Master of Engineering in Vehicle Technology”. The manufacture of vehicles, which occupies a great share of German economy, will face challenges in the future, that will include notions of diverse spheres, and the degree course commits to fill this niche. Through an interdisciplinary approach, students will build on the knowledge gained in the undergraduate course, and familiarize themselves with the technological challenges of the future of vehicle production. Smart mobility, automation, sustainable fuels, economic, ecologic and safety aspects, all these and more will have to be considered when preparing future vehicle engineers. Holistic and global thinking will be needed to be able to perform managerial tasks in an engineering setting. Advanced subjects and a practice-oriented master’s thesis mark the end of the degree studies.
