The study program “Master of Arts in African Studies” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a full-time course with a duration of four semesters. This program is targeted towards participants who would like to gain scientific knowledge of African culture and practices in the following areas of research: African Linguistics, History of Africa, African Literatures and Cultures. During their studies, students are required to learn one of the African languages offered, namely Swahili, Hausa, Northern Sotho or Bambara. The Master program allows participants to take part in an exchange program at one of the universities that partners with Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
