The study program “Bachelor of Science in Biology” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a full-time combined bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. This program is targeted towards participants who wish to pursue a career in education, as the program could only be studied in combination with a teacher-training course. The Bachelor program aims to provide students with the fundamental knowledge of the theories and methods of the fields. The scientifically-oriented teaching approach prepares participants to be able to contribute to hot topic research discussions related to the scientific study of living organisms. Participants get to experience interactions with real scholars in the field of biology as academics from the Berlin Museum of Natural History tend to regularly give lectures to students. Some of the compulsory modules that participants take are namely “Introduction to Biology,” “Evolution, Structure and Function of Plants,” “Shapes of domestic Plants and Animals” and “Morphology and Evolution of Animals”.
