The study program “Master of Arts in Cultural Studies” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a full-time course with a duration of four semesters. This program is targeted towards participants with a Bachelor degree in an educational area similar to cultural studies. The Master program aims at establishing an academic foundation for students to be able to scientifically investigate the ambiguous concept of culture from social, visual and theoretical perspectives. Studying different cultural practices, such as writing, performing, depicting, story-telling, etc. from their historical as well as theoretical points of view encourages students to think outside-of-the-box and empirically examine the notion that culture shapes and is shaped by the world we live in. A certificate of German language competence at least on level C1 is required.
