Description
The joint study program “Master of Arts in Digital Data Management” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a full-time course with a duration of four semesters. The program is available for participants to apply for due to the collaborative work of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin with the Universität Potsdam. The Master program builds on the acquired knowledge from the Library and Information Sciences provided by the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin while incorporating the scientific examination of the digital data management studies. The vastly growing demand for experts regarding the secure collection, preservation and implementation of data, allows students to further develop their competencies in the sphere by taking into account the cultural, economic, legal and political aspects of data control. Some of the required modules are namely, “Open Access, Open Data and Open Science,” “Introduction to algorithms and data structures” and “Real Lab Data”. A precondition to starting this program is a relevant university degree, as well as at least a one-year working experience in the field.
