The study program “Bachelor of Arts in English Studies” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a full-time combined bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. This program is targeted towards participants who wish to seek a career in literary and cultural institutions in which knowledge of Anglo-American literature, culture and language is required. The aim of the Bachelor program is to acquaint students with the core knowledge of the theories and notions of academically studying literature. Different cultural practices and traditions within the field of English Studies are also closely examined. As linguistics is an essential component of the program, participants are required to show proof of English language proficiency. The program could be taken with and without a teacher training module.
