The study program “Bachelor of Arts in French Studies” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a full-time combined bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. This program is targeted towards participants who are either interested in starting a career in education or who wish to gain academic knowledge of Romance literature and culture. The Bachelor program aims at providing students with the necessary core knowledge to be able to academically examine the social and literary discourses that occur within the field of French Studies. By exploring the complex relationship between language and culture, participants learn how to scientifically convey conclusions of different methods and theories of the field. For this program, a certificate of language proficiency in French is required. Competency in Latin or another European language is advisable.
