The study program “Bachelor of Arts in German Literature” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a full-time combined bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. The program is targeted towards participants who are interested in gaining extensive knowledge in the field of (German) literary and cultural studies. The aim of the Bachelor program is to acquaint students with the methods and theories of academically examining the close link between Old German Literature and Modern German Literature from a philological perspective. Participants are also given the opportunity to conduct methodological research in which the role that German Literature plays and has played throughout the centuries in shaping one’s culture is the main focus of the investigation. The MOSSE project allows students to attend a series of lectures by renowned scholars in which they learn about the “Public nature of culture, literature, art, science and media”.
