The certificate program “German - Mathematics – Science Education at Primary Schools” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a course with a duration of two semesters. The program is targeted towards participants who wish to apply for the Master program "Lehramt an Grundschulen" (Primary School Teaching) but need to earn a few extra credit points. The training course aims at providing students with the necessary additional knowledge to qualify for applying for one of the Master teaching programs. Some of the compulsory modules that participants take are namely “Didactics of German and Linguistics,” “Man, Nature, Environment-Didactic Perspectives for Elementary School” and “Fundamentals of Science Education and its Didactics”. A precondition to starting the course is a completed Bachelor degree amounting to at least 180 ECTS.
