The study program “Master of Education in German (Vocational Schools)” offered at Humboldt University Berlin provides a full-time master course with a duration of four semesters. This program is the final step that participants must take before starting their preparatory course at educational institutions. The Master program aims to deepen students’ knowledge of German works of literature and linguistics that they have acquired during their Bachelor degree. The strong focus on pedagogical training, however, allows them to acquire essential skills in the field of teaching and reflecting on somebody else’s performance of the subject matter. Another significant component of becoming a language teacher is the ability to integrate the acquired knowledge into practice. The course ensures that graduates have gained the necessary experience in the field.
