The study program “Bachelor of Arts in Germanistic Linguistics” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a full-time combined bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. This program is targeted towards participants who wish to seek a professional career in which expertise in (German) language or linguistic communication is required. The Bachelor program aims at providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the structures and processes of communicating in a given language. The research-oriented teaching approach allows participants to not only form empirical hypotheses but also teaches them how to formulate and present the gathered data in a clear, scientific manner. Knowledge of at least two other European languages alongside German is advisable.
