Description
The study program “Bachelor of Arts in Greek Studies” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a full-time combined bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. This program is targeted towards participants who are either interested in starting a career in education or who wish to gain academic knowledge of Greek literature, language and culture. The interdisciplinary approach of the Bachelor program aims at providing students with knowledge of different subfields of the study of classical antiquity combined with new literary and cultural practices. A particular focus is paid to the academic examination of the intricate relationship between the discourses of new media practices while researching traditional classical studies. During their studies, participants receive the unique opportunity to deepen their knowledge in specialist fields of study such as “Papyrology” and “Epigraphy”. The program does not require evidence of any language competencies. However, students who lack knowledge of Greko-Latin language proficiency, up to a level equivalent to German Graecum, must take an introductory language course before starting their studies.
