The study program “Master of Arts in History” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a full-time course with a duration of four semesters. This program is targeted towards participants with a Bachelor degree in Humanities who could provide sufficient knowledge in the fields of History and Social Sciences with a minimum of 60 ECTS. The research-oriented Master program allows students to comprehensively examine their topic of choice while contributing to the scientific development of the domain of history. There are several specialisation modules that participants are required to choose from in order to acquire the necessary methodological and theoretical abilities to adequately resolve complex issues later in their career. These are namely, “Ancient History,” “Medieval history,” “Modern History (16th to 20th century),” “Contemporary History (20th century to the present day),” “Digital History,” “Europe and the World,” “Culture and Knowledge,” “Economy and Society” and “Domination and Politics”.
