The study program “Bachelor of Arts in Hungarian Literature and Culture” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a full-time combined bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. This program is targeted towards participants who seek employment in professional areas in which specialized knowledge in Hungarian culture, language and literature is required. The Bachelor program aims at providing students with the necessary academic skills to be able to scientifically position written texts and cultural doctrines in the realm of the Eastern European canon. Participating in exchange programs abroad is strongly recommended for students to be able to practice the acquired knowledge. Students who lack knowledge of Hungarian language proficiency, equivalent to at least an A2 level, must take an introductory language course before starting their studies. In addition, besides sufficient competency in the German language, participants are expected to have fluency in English.
