The study program “Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Theology” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a full-time combined bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. This program could either be taken as a core subject or as a secondary subject, without the ability to take supplementary teacher training modules. The aim of the Bachelor program is to introduce students to the core beliefs and dogmas of the Islamic religion. Students are not required to profess Islam, however, they are encouraged to show interest and respect towards Islamic practices and traditions. Some of the mandatory modules that students take are “Introduction to Islamic Theology,” “Arabic” and “Koran and Hadith”.
