The study program “Bachelor of Arts in Italian Studies” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a full-time combined bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. This program is targeted towards participants who are either interested in starting a career in education or who wish to gain academic knowledge in Romance Studies. The Bachelor program aims at providing students with the academic foundations to be able to scientifically study the relationship between Italian literary and cultural practices with the theories and methods of another Romance language domain. The supplementary teacher training modules prepare participants for employment in academic institutions in which the ability to adequately communicate specific knowledge to a younger audience is necessary. Students who cannot provide evidence of Italian language competency are required to take an introductory language course before starting their studies.
