The study program “Bachelor of Arts in Latin Studies” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a full-time combined bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. This program is targeted towards participants who are either interested in starting a career in education or who wish to gain academic knowledge of the interconnections between ancient literary, historical and cultural practices and their applications in today’s contemporary society. The research-oriented teaching approach of the Bachelor program aims to provide students with the necessary academic background to be able to take an active role in current research topics in the field. Examples of these include the examination of ancient literary works of art, relics and linguistic practices from the perspective of current new media practices. Participants who cannot provide evidence of Latin language proficiency are required to take a preparatory language course before they start their studies.
