The study program “Bachelor of Arts in Library and Information Science” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a full-time combined bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. This program is targeted towards participants who would like to seek a career in libraries, archive institutions, as well as technical information institutions. The research-oriented teaching approach provides students with the necessary knowledge to take part in ongoing research discussions related to the preservation and processing of data information. Particular attention is paid to the concept of the preservation and digitalization of written works; the so-called ‘digital library’. Taking part in exchange programs with other accredited universities abroad is also highly recommended.
