The study program “Media Studies” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a full-time combined course with a duration of six semesters. This program does not offer teacher training opportunity and it could be combined with any Bachelor program as a core subject. The program aims at the academic examination of the visual remediation of literature, culture and music. The research-oriented studying approach allows students to acquire analytical knowledge of the concepts and practices of the domain of (new) media studies. Some of the compulsory core modules include “Media Theories,” “Media Archaeology versus Mediahistiographie,” “Media Dramaturgy and Media Aesthetics” and “Digital Media”.
