The study program “Bachelor of   Arts in Primary School Teaching” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a full-time combined bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. This program is targeted towards participants who are interested in seeking employment in educational institutions. The multidisciplinary approach of the Bachelor program does not only train participants how to tutor a younger audience but also focuses on providing them with essential knowledge of the fundamentals of natural sciences, developmental psychology, epistemology, etc. The ‘Primary School Workshop’ allows students to learn the most about the teaching profession by practising the learned knowledge in real-life settings and conducting their research projects. The program offers the following fields of specialization, as three of them must be selected: German, Mathematics, General Studies, Special Needs Education, Special Needs Education with Focus on Sign Language Pedagogy and Hearing & Communication, Sport, Catholic Theology, Islamic Theology, Protestant Theology.
