The study program “Master of Science in Rehabilitation Education” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a full-time course with a duration of four semesters. This program is targeted towards participants who would like to seek employment in daycare centres, counselling organizations, assistance services, pediatric clinics, etc. The master program aims at training students in problem-solving techniques when working with patients with different chronic diseases or disabilities. The research-focused approach of the Master program allows for comprehensive examinations of the effects of chronic illnesses, impairments or disabilities on a person’s ability to live their life to the fullest. Another important aspect of the program is the academic investigation of the complex relationship between people with disabilities and the role of society, politics and education in promoting diversity in our contemporary culture. The research internship program allows participants to gain experience by working with people with chronic diseases, impairments and disabilities.
