The study program “Master of Arts in Romance Cultures” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a full-time course with a duration of four semesters. The program is targeted towards participants who are interested in seeking a career path in a professional field in which the knowledge and acquisition of one or all of the Romance languages are required. The Master program aims at the academic investigation of French, Italian and Spanish languages from the domains of literary theory, media theory, cultural studies and theories of history, from the Middle Ages to nowadays. Alongside these theories, francophone and Latin American works of literature are also incorporated into the curriculum. Besides a relevant Bachelor degree, participants are required to provide a certificate of language proficiency in two of the three main Romance languages; a minimum of C1 level for the first language, and a minimum of A2 for the second language.
