Description
The joint study program “Master of Science in Rural Development” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a full-time course with a duration of four semesters. This program is organized by the collaborative work of fifteen higher institutions throughout the world. The Master program aims to train participants into becoming specialist in the field of sustainable use of natural resources along with solving the major agrarian problems that some regions of the world face. The program offers students the possibility to compare European and Non-European methods of scientifically examining the socio-economic challenges that many agrarian communities still face. Participants start their studies in Belgium; after that, they continue with their education in a partner university of their choice. Some of the prerequisite to applying for this Master is a Bachelor degree in bioscience engineering, agricultural sciences or agricultural economics with extensive knowledge in mathematics or statistics, life sciences, social sciences/sociology and rural development or economics. Upon successful completion of the program, students receive a Joint Master degree in Science.
