Description
The study program “Bachelor of Arts in Scandinavian Studies/Northern European Studies” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a full-time mono-bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. The program is targeted towards participants who would like to find employment in an international organization where the knowledge of a northern language from a cultural and academic perspective is needed. The aim of it is to academically study the Scandinavian and the Baltic Sea regions from a historical, cultural, literary, political and philosophical perspective with a particular focus on the interconnection between Germany and Scandinavia. As part of the Bachelor program students are required to learn one of the languages spoken in the region and acquire the necessary skills to put this knowledge into a broader perspective. Participation in an exchange program abroad with another accredited university is strongly advised.
