The study program “Master of Arts in Social Sciences (Trans-Atlantic Masters)” offered at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin public university provides a full-time course with a duration of four semesters. The program is targeted towards participants who would like to experience what student life is like on two continents. The Master program gives students the exceptional opportunity to methodologically investigate the ways in which contemporary societies operate from an economic, political and social perspective. This becomes possible due to the collaborative work of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin together with the University of North Carolina, the University of Bath, the Freie Universität Berlin, the Sciences Po Grenoble, the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and the Università degli Studi di Siena which allows participants to attend classes both in Europe and the U.S. Upon completing the program students are awarded a Master’s degree from the University of North Carolina. However, there is a possibility to apply for a Master of Arts degree at one of the European universities.
