Description
Tourism Management involves the organizing of activities concerned with the tourism and hospitality industry. Tourism Management students have the opportunity to learn the basic principles of tourism, its nature and versatility, the international environment and how to manage all aspects of it through subjects that include Social Psychology, Information Technologies, Tourism Geography, Cybersecurity, Tour Agencies, Economics, Principles of Hospitality, and Tourism Operations. Students in Tourism Management need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to speak foreign languages, as well as strong problem-solving, decision-making, critical and analytical thinking skills. Tourism Management is a very prospective field of study, which also provides students with chances to gain professional experience through practical project and research. A degree in Tourism Management opens the door for many careers in an industry that is developing at a rapid speed. Graduates can expect to find jobs in tour management, theme parks, cruise lines, resort management, hotel management, travel consultancy, travel agencies, customer service, tour planning, destination brand management, airlines, recreation centers and many more.

Requirements
An internship or industry-specific professional experience of at least three months in the tourism industry is required for admission. Proof of this must be provided by the beginning of the third semester. In addition, you must have a general (technical) higher education entrance qualification or an equal qualification. You can also study at the IST University of Applied Sciences without a high school diploma: To do so, you must provide proof of at least two years of vocational training plus three years of professional experience, a master craftsman's certificate or advanced training (e.g. as an IHK Fachwirt:in).
This Bachelor's degree course is aimed at school graduates with a university entrance qualification who are looking to enter the tourism industry and industry experts who would like to gain further academic qualifications with a Bachelor's degree.
