More and more people are attending events in their free time, and the event industry is more important than ever. As a communications and event manager, you will be involved in the planning and implementation of exciting events such as festivals, trade fairs and corporate events. As part of a team, you will organize the location, technology, performing artists or brands and the marketing of the event. You can express yourself creatively, benefit from flexible working hours and work with a wide variety of people on joint projects. You will be in close contact with your customers and your organization will make the perfect event possible. Business knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of the event industry are essential in this diverse profession. With the dual study program “Communication & Event Management”, you will qualify as an industry specialist for management positions, for example in communication departments of companies, in event and PR agencies and at concert organizers or artist agencies.

You will spend the majority of the dual study program in your training company. Here you will take on your own tasks and projects from day one and gain practical work experience. At the same time, you will acquire important theoretical knowledge during the distance learning course at IST University, which is independent of time and location. Study books, online tutorials and exercises are available to you for theoretical knowledge transfer, so you can watch lectures and learn whenever and wherever you want. 

An in-company training relationship with an event-specific company is required. In addition, the general (technical) university entrance qualification or an equivalent school-leaving qualification must be presented. However, even those who do not have a high school diploma can start the dual study program under certain conditions: with at least two years of vocational training and three years of professional experience or a master craftsman's certificate or advanced training.

The dual Bachelor's degree course in “Communication & Event Management” is suitable for graduates who are aiming for a senior management position in the communication and event management industry. However, the dual study program is also ideal for experienced professionals and career changers who want to gain higher qualifications at an academic level with flexibility in terms of time and location.
